About

Author Sarah T. Wright holding Anna's F-Plan book

I had a pipe dream to be a published author. I’m not going to pretend my path to publication has been problem free, but perseverance has finally paid off!

It seems so long ago since I sat, pen poised, staring a blank piece of paper, waiting for words to pour onto the page. I waited and waited and waited but nothing happened.

I bet you Dickens didn’t have this problem, or Shakespeare, or any of the Brontës. I got a little distracted listing off the greats that one day, I would share sacred shelf space with.

‘You can do this,’ I gave myself a pep talk before going back to staring at the very empty, very white page in front of me. You just have to be patient.

Who was I kidding? I had no patience. When God was handing out patience I wasn’t even in the queue.

‘Aha!’ at the mention of the Almighty, I had a light bulb moment. I would ask/ beg up above for inspiration.

‘Please,’ I prayed/ wailed for heaven’s help and then Anna, an angel with ruffled feathers marched onto the page wielding a rather large sword.

Peeved, prone to profanity and in a plight of her own, she was soon joined by a portly Holly, with a penchant for Christmas pudding and a philandering Leonardo, who had a predilection for wearing black leather trousers.

‘Yay,’ I was pleased with my promising cast of characters that was completed with the appearance of Nathaniel, a professional golfer with problems of his own and Jack, a little boy recovering from a brain tumour.

Like Anna, I now had a plan and I plunged headlong into the task at hand, with the same passion and sense of purpose as my lead character, hoping that I was as proficient with my pen, as she was with her sword.

In the pursuit of perfection, I put in long hours, writing and re-writing Anna’s F-Plan until finally, it was finished.

It has been a fairytale come true to write this story. A story that opens in the fairytale setting of a snowy Central Park on Christmas Eve.

I hope you’ll enjoy this fun, festive, family read about a reluctant Guardian angel who ends up going on a very human and hilarious journey as she tries to get back to heaven where she belongs.
